Sandia National Labs “Mixed Waste Landfill” is a 2.5 acre unlined dump containing chemical, hazardous, and radioactive waste from nuclear weapons research. This toxic material sits above Albuquerque’s drinking water aquifer and it contains potentially explosive material (metallic sodium).
